Speaking at Jan. 20th LA LAMP meetup

I will be giving a short presentation on HauteLook's architecture at the LA LAMP meetup on January 20th.  I have been meaning to join a user group for some time, so this worked out perfectly.  Any developers in the LA area on that day should come, even if it is just for the free food and beer.

    Hello,

I was at the LA LAMP meet up on January 20th. It was a interesting introduction to the Zend framework for me. I just wanted to give you a heads up that the hautelook.com/careers page is generating an error. Please let me know when it will be up =)

    Thanks

    Hi Julia,
We are waiting until after the morning traffic quiets down and then push an update to fix that page. I will update you once we do.

The careers page is up now.

Thanks for the update. Is there anything available for recent grads (i.e. Masters in Computer Science) without years of experience?

  • Herman Radtke

    Hi Julia,
I have mentioned to management that I think it is a good idea to hire interns or recent grads. Unfortunately, I am not sure what their plans are for that. I think training issues are the main concern.

If you think you have the skills to work at a place like HauteLook, but lack the number of years experience, apply anyways. If you have sample code to back it up all the better. I did not qualify for the PHP developer job, but was hired based on my skill-set.

If you don’t have the skills yet, then I encourage you to work on open source projects.

    Hi,

Thank you for looking into it for me. I guess I’ll give it a shot.
